The Rules of Roulette
The Roulette game was invented in Europe in the 17th century, over 300 years ago, which makes it the oldest casino game still being played. For centuries the patrons of casinos the world over have been fascinated by this game. The Roulette wheel is divided into 37 segments on the ‘French wheel’ (or ‘European Wheel’) and 38 on the ‘American wheel’ (our casino has the European Roulette, which has one zero). These are numbered 1-36 with a single zero on the French Roulette and a double zero on the American Roulette. The segments are colored red and black alternately, starting with the red number one. The zero and the double zero segments are both colored green. A ball is flicked in a clockwise direction around the outer rim of the Roulette wheel, which is spinning in a counterclockwise direction. The object of the game is to bet on the number on which the ball will eventually land.
Numbers that match those on the wheel are arranged on the Roulette table in 3 columns of 12 numbers. Your stake is placed on the table and is considered either an outside bet or an inside bet.
In the Roulette game the player places a bet on a number, color, odds or a group of numbers on the Roulette table. The Roulette ball is spun, and winnings are determined by the slot on the Roulette wheel where the ball makes a final stop. The amount of the payoff depends on how the bet was placed.
The Roulette table is marked with the numbers “0″ and “1-36″ (american style tables have a “00″). The numbers are alternately colored red and black with “0″ colored green. The player begins by clicking and placing chips on the desired areas on the table. Every betting option (either an Inside Bet or an Outside Bet) is highlighted when the mouse cursor is on it.
Once the ‘Spin’ button has been pressed the wheel is spun and when the ball falls on a number - winnings are automatically added to your bankroll.
